The ABRS offer a series of awards and competitions for our clients including for the little ones “My first sit on a Pony” and for our more experienced riders they are holding an online Prix Caprilli competition. Prix Caprilli is a dressage test with some jumping involved, if you would like to see what that looks like there are many videos available on YouTube for you to have a look at.
The competition has 3 levels Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Beginner is in walk and trot with poles on the floor – this will be suitable for all riders who are off the leadrein, balanced in walk and trot and able to ride a 20m circle.
Intermediate is walk, trot and canter with fences of 30cm. Riders must be able to ride a canter 20m circle in the middle of the arena and jump from trot.
Advanced is walk, trot and canter with jumps of 50cm. Riders must be able to allow the horse to stretch in trot and jump from canter.
Copies of the tests for May are available online at the ABRS website, if you have any questions please just ask. The tests in June and July will be different.
Dates: May 27th Daytime, June 23rd Daytime and July 17th Evening.
The cost will be £37.50 to include horse hire, class entry, coach in the warmup phase, the videoing and uploading of the test.
